Haras Dadinco-bred The Last Song showed mettle to match her ability when graduating Sunday at Hipodromo Chile.
Making her fourth careeer start, the Van Nistelrooy filly is out of the imported U.S.-bred Ghostzapping (Ghostzapper) was squeezed coming out of the gate before settling behind the pacesetters. Taking considerable kickback through much of the 6 1/2 furlong maiden, she was angled inside by jockey Gustavo Aros and rallied up the rail to win a tight photo.
The Last Song is the second Dadinco-bred out of Ghostzapping (photo). Her dam hails from an American family which in recent seasons has seen a wealth of black-type updates via Gr3 winner Bye Bye, Gold Standard, World Tour, and 2023 stakes winner Merlazza.
Ghostzapping's third dam is Dream Supreme, top-class U.S. sprinter and dam of Gr1 Hopeful S. winner and sire Majestic Warrior.
