Comandante Trueno (Flameaway) is proving himself a very quick colt, both in his races and rise to the top of Chile's juvenile ranks.

The Haras Dadinco-bred out of Lemon Surprise (Lemon Drop Kid) was a decisive winner of Monday's Gr3 Cotejo De Potrillos in Santiago, where he graduated over two months ago.

Jockey Jonathan Castillo held up Comandante Trueno just off the pace before advancing to the lead into the long home stretch. The pair went on to a clear victory in the 6 1/2-furlong sprint for owner Stud Dieanch and trainer Aldo Parra.

The Cotejo De Potrillos also saw a reverse in finish between Comandante Trueno and Dastan, who triumphed when both colts made their debut and finished 2nd best Sunday.

Comandante Trueno is the 3rd Dadinco-bred winner out of U.S. import Lemon Surprise. The granddaughter of Weekend Surprise (Secretariat) is 1/2 to four winners including over $600,000 earner Guest Suite (Quality Road).

Lemon Surprise is inbred 3x4 to Weekend Surprise's dam Lassie Dear (Buckpasser).
