Gr1-winning Hurstland Farm graduate Rosalind was represented yesterday by her first winner when 2yo Chanceux wired a MSW field at Aqueduct for a two-length victory.

After placing an even 4th in his dirt debut at Belmont Park, the Speightstown colt made a smooth transition to the turf, a surface over which Rosalind excelled over the latter-half of her career. Returning over six furlongs for a 2nd straight start, Chanceux was ridden out to the wire and should stretch out with efficiency as he enters his 3yo season.

Chanceux is the 2nd foal to race out of Rosalind, who competed with distinction on three surfaces from ages two through four.

By Broken Vow out of Theatrical's daughter Critics Acclaim, Rosalind's racing career embodied the longevity and versatility of many top-flight Hurstland graduates. A debut winner at two, Rosalind placed in both the Gr Alcibiades and Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, before returning at three to dead-heat in the Gr Ashland S.

At four, under new ownership, she was primarily campaigned on turf, adding the Gr2 Sheepshead Bay over 11 furlongs and a 3rd in the Gr1 E.P. Taylor to her well-rounded resume. Retired with over $900,000 in earnings, she is dam to a weanling War Front filly this and is due back to Twirling Candy.

Rosalind's full sister Double Cast, winner and multiple times placed in NY allowance company, was retained by Alfred Nuckols and co-breeder James Greene for the Hurstland broodmare band. Her first foal is a yearling Kantharos colt.
