A change of scenery restored a familiar result for Destino d'Oro. Making her first start outside Kentucky, the 3yo Bolt d'Oro filly out of Heart of Destiny (Lion Heart) regained her winning in Gulfstream Park's Tropical Park Oaks.

The Hurstland Farm graduate shook off a pair of recent unplaced efforts to prevail over And One More Time, a Gr1 winner herself, and land Saturday's $125,000 co-feature by a head.

Trainer Brad Cox also partnered Steve Landers' classy filly with a new jockey. Edgard Sayaz kept Destino d'Oro unhurried while saving ground down the backstretch, then followed Javier Castellano as he advanced And One More Time on the far turn.

And One More Time drifted sharply in deep stretch but Destino d'Oro was finishing strongest and gained the lead late, completing 1 1/16 miles in 1min 40.02sec. Ramsey Pond was 3rd.

“We think she’s got a world of talent. She showed that last year as a 2yo with two really good starts,” Cox said. “We brought her down to Payson [Park] after the Keeneland meet and she’s done very well since. I think she showed that today.”

Bred by Hurstland in partnership with Jamie Greene and a $185,000 2yo purchase by Landers, Destino d'Oro has won four of seven starts for earnings over $544,000.
