From the heart of America's breeding capital, Lexington again readies to host the largest Thoroughbred sale of its kind.
Keeneland has cataloged 4,194 horses for its signature September Yearling Sale, which is set to be held from Monday, Sept. 11th through Saturday, Sept. 23rd.
The sale commences with the first of two sessions covering Book 1, which has 379 yearlings cataloged. A pair of sessions for Book 2 set for Wednesday and Thursday precede the sale's lone dark day on Friday. Book 3 then begins Saturday.
The September Sale of course feature progeny by all prominent Kentucky sires, along with a handful of leading sires standing abroad. Consignors include some of the longest-running nurseries around central Kentucky, from where elite international runners have for decades and continue to be reared.
