Even without a locally-held Breeders' Cup to usher in the season, anticipation for this November's Kentucky breeding sales would not be lacking.
On the heels of record yearling trade in Lexington and Newmarket, a deep selection of broodmares and mare prospects tops the catalog for Keeneland's 79th November Breeding Stock Sale. The two-day Breeders' Cup meeting will be run next door the preceding Friday and Saturday.
The auction begins with a single session Book 1 on Monday, Nov. 7th at 1 p.m. ET and runs through Wednesday, Nov. 16th. The marathon auction is preceded crosstown on Sunday, November 6th by Fasig-Tipton's single-session mixed November Sale, also featuring a lineup of coveted producers and graded stakes performers.
Whether breeding for the commercial market or to race, the foundation of any program is mare selection, along with the proper matings for each. We always look forward to sourcing each of the year-end catalogs for those potential foundation mares and key additions to the band.
