An initiative which hopefully is a step towards restoring New York as an international racing stage. A New York Racing Association Turf Triple, one series apiece for three-year-old colts and fillies, respectively, debuts this year.

The Turf Trinity and Turf Tiara will offer $5.25 million in total purse money will be run at Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course. The Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Derby Invitational, contested at 1 1/4-miles (2,000 meters), starts off the Trinity on July 6th. The Grade 1, $750,000 Belmont Oaks Invitational, at 1 1/4-miles (2,000 meters) kicks off the filly counterpart on the same American holiday program.
