Destino d'Oro is California-bound and does so with a strong chance in next Friday's $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

The Hurstland Farm graduate just missed securing an automatic berth at Del Mar when 3rd in the Gr2 Jessamine S. on Keeneland's opening day program. She still managed to draw into the body of the 14-horse field for the Juvenile Fillies Turf when pre-entries were released this week.

May Day Ready (Jessamine) and Scythian (Miss Grillo), both 'Win and You're In' qualifiers, plus dual European Gr1 winner Lake Victoria, were also pre-entered.

Jockey Flavien Prat will have to negotiate a slight turn-back to a flat mile at Del Mar aboard Destino d'Oro but is also assured of rallying into a contested pace. His mount breezed for the first time since the Jessamine last Saturday at Keeneland (below). With the dogs well out from the rail, she clocked a 1/2 mile in :51 3/5sec.

Runner-up in the Gr1 Darley Alcibiades to Stephanie's Kitten (ironically also winner of the 2011 Juvenile Fillies Turf), Heart of Destiny (Lion Heart) is dam of five winners. Destino d'Oro, a $185,000 2yo purchase by Steve Landers, is her first black-type earner.
