It is an annual rite in global bloodstock. Breed the best to the best, then select from the very best of those matings at the world's premier yearling auctions.
Following this week's Arqana's August Sale and just ahead of Tattersalls' October Yearling Sale, Keeneland will host the 2024 September Yearling Sale in Lexington. Catalog for the world's largest Thoroughbred sale of its kind, which begins Monday, September 9th, is now live.
For a fourth consecutive year, week 1 of the September Sale will be as follows:
Week 1
Book 1 – Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 9th-10th. Sessions begin at 1 p.m. ET.
Book 2 – Wednesday-Thursday, Sept. 11th-12th. Sessions begin at 11 a.m.
Dark Day – Friday, Sept. 13th. No sale session held.
Through Aug. 4th, September Sale graduates have won over 200 stakes worldwide in 2024, with notable victories in England, Ireland, France, and Japan, as well as North America.
“Spanning two weeks and six books, the September Sale caters to buyers at every level, offering yearlings that fit various price points in each session,” Keeneland Vice President of Sales Tony Lacy said.
“As the quality of entries continues to rise, so does the competition. Shopping on the grounds from Book 1 to Book 6 provides buyers the chance to find everything on their short lists and more."
