On top of landing the winner's share of a $1 million purse, Sharing's rousing victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita produced a notable first in Cup history.

By emulating her dam Shared Account, the Speightstown filly and Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners' colorbearer became the first offspring out of a Breeders' Cup-winning mare to likewise triumph at the championship meet. Shared Account upset European star Midday in the 2010 Filly & Mare Turf at Churchill Downs.

Both were trained to victory by Graham Motion.

Under jockey Manny Franco, Sharing was well placed out of post 11 behind a strong early pace. Produced off the turn, the chestnut filly finished resolute en route to a 1 1/4 length decision, with Roger Varian-trained Daahyeh coming on for 2nd.

Breeders' Cup success runs deep throughout Sharing's pedigree. Her sire Speightstown won the 2004 Sprint, while Shared Account's sire Pleasantly Perfect triumphed in the previous year's Classic at Santa Anita.

Shared Account, seen here with Sharing at Sagamore Farm, is due back to Medaglia d'Oro after delivering her first Sam-Son Farm homebred, a Mastery colt, this past season. She was purchased by Sam-Son for $550,000 at Keeneland November the year prior to Sharing's historic triumph.

Shared Account herself was produced from the Smart Strike mare Silk 'n Sapphire, and was a dual Gr1 runner-up the season prior to her Breeders' Cup win.
