Undervalued Asset regained her winning form in a seven-furlong Saturday allowance at Saratoga, opening a clear lead into the stretch then holding sway for a 3/4 length victory.
A debut winner last November at Aqueduct for Klaravich Stable, the 3yo Speightstown filly placed 2nd in the Gr3 Forward Gal S. in her 2023 bow. Undervalued Asset is out of the Hard Spun mare Hard Headed Temper, a Hurstland Farm product and 1/2 sister to Gr1 runner-up Heart of Destiny.
Like notable Hurstland graduates including Gr1 winner Rosalind, theirs is the direct line of Belair Stud matriarch Marguerite, dam of 1930 Triple Crown winner Gallant Fox.
Trainer Chad Brown could test that pedigree's versatility in any number of possible spots including the Lake Placid on grass back at Saratoga, or out of town options like the rich Charles Town Oaks and Cotillion S.
Undervalued Asset was bred by in partnership Cloyce C. Clark, Jr. and a $150,000 Keeneland November foal.
