Ticker Tape Home stood out Saturday in a seven-furlong Woodbine maiden for Ontario-bred fillies, then in convincing fashion at Woodbine provided dam Journey Home with a first win as producer.
Back at the scene of her promising debut, the Mark Casse pupil quickened soon as asked by Patrick Husbands and drew off to a near 10l victory even while geared down well ahead of the wire.
The 2yo filly by Medaglia d'Oro (photo), now with a win and 2nd from two starts over the Woodbine turf, is 2nd offspring to race out of Journey Home. The daughter of War front was a $200,000 Keeneland September purchase by Sam-Son Farm who also bred Ticker Tape Home, a $625,000 Saratoga yearling purchase by Live Oak Stud.
At present member of KatieRich Farms' broodmare band, Journey Home was bred back to Medaglia d'Oro and is dam to a weanling Curlin colt.
