Well-bred Lady Madonna took another step forward recently at Monmouth Park toward her first bid for black-type.

The 3yo War Front filly out of Gr1 winner Rosalind garnered her 2nd career victory on August 17th after twice placing in similar company. The Bob and Lowana Low color bearer produced an impressive rally in the 1 1/16-mile turf contest under Joe Bravo to rally in time for a 1/2 length decision.

It could be the steppingstone sought all season for Lady Madonna, whose stakes nominations include Aqueduct's upcoming Winter Memories and the Gr3 Jockey Club Oaks Invitational.

A $675,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling, Lady Madonna is the 3rd winner out of Gr1-winning Hurstland Farm graduate Rosalind (Broken Vow - Critics Acclaim by Theatrical).
