San Nicolás' Haras Dadinco, whose homebred Furia Cruzada campaigned abroad with distinction from Royal Ascot to Meydan, is represented at home this season with another rising star.

Toy Soltero's latest success in the Gr2 Gran Premio Gonzalo Bofill de Caso at Valparaiso Sporting Club spotlights the Chilean stud's focus on mare prospects from top American families. The 2yo Van Nistelrooy colt, winner in all three starts for owner Stud Choapa, was produced from the imported Malibu Moon mare Malibu Maple.

The Colts Neck Stable-bred out of Crimson Maple (Rahy) was a $16,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase by Dadinco before heading to the Southern hemisphere. Malibu Maple is a granddaughter of Maplejinsky, the Nijinsky-sired winner of the 1988 Gr1 Alabama S. and dam of American champion Sky Beauty.

Maplejinsky, whose single-season career ranks among the finer work of her Hall of Fame trainer P.G. Johnson, is out of Eclipse Award-winning sprinter Gold Beauty and 1/2 sister to champion European sprinter Dayjur. The extended family also includes Phipps-bred standouts Pine Island, Pleasant Home, and Point of Entry.

Since Dadinco's purchase of Malibu Maple, her dam has been represented stateside by five-time black-type winner Goldwood and two additional MSW winners.
