A rough trip over the Churchill Downs turf on the Derby Day undercard halted Mission of Joy's winning steak at three. It took but her next start to start a new one.

The Kitten's Joy filly won Saturday's Gr3 Regret S. back at Churchill over nine furlongs in confident style beneath Tyler Gaffalione, 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Irish-bred Papilio.

The Graham Motion trainee won the Florida Oaks to top a strong winter, then shipped to Louisville from Motion's Herringswell base in Fair Hill for the Gr3 Edgewood S. She nearly overcame clipping heels and having to alter course while finishing a flying 3rd, just ahead of Papilio.

The Sam-Son Farm bred is out of Smart Strike's daughter Smart Mission, whose dam Misty Mission produced three stakes winners, including Canadian champion Irish Mission. Mission of Joy is the first U.S. stakes winner by Kitten's Joy out of a Smart Strike mare.
