A Gun Runner colt out of Deceptive Vision (A.P. Indy) from Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa heated up trade on day one of Keeneland's January Sale, selling to Marc Gunderson for $800,000.

The short yearling is out of the Sam-Son Farm bred MGSW and dam of MGSP Ancient Peace (War Front). A high-class runner in her native Ontario, winning the Gr2 Canadian S. and GSP another four times, Deceptive Vision also shipped down to Keeneland and won the Gr3 Doubledogdare S. on dirt.

The daughter of Canadian broodmare of the year Eye of the Sphynx (Smart Strike) was acquired in 2021 by Hill 'n' Dale and partners for $900,000 carrying a full sibling to Ancient Peace.

Woodbine Oaks winner and champion Canadian filly, Eye of the Sphynx truly outdid herself for Sam-Son in the breeding shed.

Deceptive Vision is full-sister to Queen's Plate winner Eye of the Leopard and Plate runner-up Hotep, 3/4 to SW Desert Isle (Bernardini), and 1/2 sister to Canadian classic producer Fun in the Desert (Distorted Humor).

The latter's own Woodbine Oaks winner, Desert Ride (Candy Ride), is dam of very promising Japan 3yo Matenro Gale.
