In a late-season stakes debut, Ticker Tape Home was favored versus the boys in Saturday's Listed Display S. at Woodbine.
Right up off her maiden win over the same all-weather surface and seven furlong distance, the Medaglia d'Oro filly led the compact field before yielding late to Hal. The 2nd-place finish by 1/2 length to the Accelerate gelding makes Ticker Tape Home a first black-type earner out of Gr3 winner Journey Home.
An Ontario-bred, the Live Oak Stud colorbearer is eligible for a wealth of stakes opportunities next season, including the Woodbine Oaks, won a record seven times by her breeder, Sam-Son Farm.
Journey Home produced a Curlin colt this past season for KatieRich Farms, which purchased the War Front mare at Keeneland January for $650,000. The Jimmy Durante S. winner was previously a $200,000 September Sale graduate.
