Diamond Hands signaled her first winner's circle appearance of 2023 may not be far off with a strong seasonal bow Sunday at Gulfstream Park.

Making her first start since September and leaving from post 10, the daughter of Frosted out of MSW Love Cove pressed eventual winner Regal Realm throughout the 7 1/2 furlong turf sprint. She then held well to hold 2nd safe from Mona Stella.

The effort upped the 4yo's earnings to $152,460 in eight career starts, over which she has finished out of the money only once.

Diamond Hands' 1/2 sister Broken Hearts Bay, meanwhile, has come close to breaking her maiden twice this winter on dirt at Tampa Bay Downs.

Both daughters of Love Cove were foaled and reared at Alfred Nuckols' Hurstland Farm.
