Major stakes results on the East coast continue to flatter Hurstland Farm mare Hookah Lady (Smoke Glacken) and her 1/2 sister to MGSW Get Smokin (below).

In Saratoga, her filly's sire Practical Joke has been represented by a pair of Gr1 winners. Ways and Means landed the Gr1 Test S., followed by Domestic Product's Gr1 H. victory in the Gr1 Allen Jerkens S., a race Practical Joke won in 2017.

While those wins were each over seven furlongs, both 3yos by the Into Mischief sire has also run well this season going longer.

From Hookah Lady's immediate family, meanwhile, there emerged a first black-type winner out of champion Dayatthespa (City Zip).

The 3yo Stonestreet Farm-bred Spaliday (More than Ready) won Monmouth Park's Boiling Springs S. making her stakes debut, one week prior to Get Smokin's United Nations victory over the same course.

2014 Eclipse Award winner Dayatthespa is out of a full-sister to Hookah Lady's dam Doc's Leading Lady. The Doc's Leader mare is also dam of black-type winner/producer Spanish Pipedream (Scat Daddy), now in Australia.
