Haras Dadinco-bred Comandante Trueno (Flameaway), latest runner out of import Lemon Surprise (Lemon Drop Kid), was an impressive graduate Friday in Santiago.
The Flameaway colt controlled the 1200m Maiden nearly throughout under Jonathan Castillo and won ridden out by 1 3/4 lengths. Comandante Trueno placed a clear 2nd to the impressive Dastan in his debut and has the pedigree to thrive over longer distances.
Dam to three Dadinco-bred winners, Lemon Surprise is out of Guest House (Ghostzapper), dam of Gr3 winner Guest Suite and granddaughter of Lane's End matriarch Weekend Surprise (Secretariat).
