A filly out of a once highly-promising daughter of Smart Strike is picking up where her dam left off.
Ontario-bred I'm a Cutie Pie continued a productive winter in Maryland with a comfortable allowance score Sunday at Laurel Park. The 3yo Mendelssohn filly handled a stretch out to nine furlongs with ease, drawing off to a 5 1/4 length victory. She has won or placed 2nd in her last four starts for trainer Claudio Gonzalez.
Close-related to Smart Strike's champion daughter My Miss Aurelia, Adorable was bred in partnership by Mulholland Springs and Sam-Son Farms. She was a $450,000 Barretts March Sale graduate & juvenile black-type earner.
Her full-sister Truly Striking, bred by the same connections, is dam of 2yo Speedstorm, a $400,000 Keeneland September yearling.
